tough mama.

there is something about jerry garcia’s rendition of bob dylan’s tough mama–i think it could quite possibly be my favorite song.  when i listen to it, i can’t help but smile and tap my toes.  dylan’s lyrics are genius–they inspire me to emulate this mysterious beauty–and garcia’s soothing voice brings a sweetness to them–captivating me for the entire 9 minutes for which it plays.

tough mama, can i blow a little smoke on you?

dark beauty…its my duty to bring you down to the field where the flowers bloom.

sweet goddess, born of a blinding light and a changing wind.

silver angel, with the badge of the lonesome road written on your sleeve.

the world of illusion is at my door.

    goin to blog on you
    tough mama
    the rain shines on you….

    a simple twist of fate
    will be forever young
    while queen jane approximately
    is blowing in the wind
with lily, rosemary and the jack of hearts and sad eyed lady of the lowlands
    wishin for tough mama
because a hard rain is gonna fall

the idiot winds are tangled up in blue
    whispering visions of johanna
when joline, sarah and emmitt till
wanted to meet me in the morning
    while wandering thru desolation row
    and wishin for tough mama
because the time they are a changin………..

leave some love.
