although the forecast called for rain, today turned out to be gorgeous. blue skies, sunshine, and only a slight breeze. the perfect day for a five hour walk. i set out this morning to go to the haas-lilienthal house–the only completely restored victorian home in san francisco that is open to the public–and ended up discovering new parts of the city and an abundance of other beautiful victorians. the haas-lilienthal house built in 1886. the interior was beautiful–the epitome of victorian design. dark, rich colors, excessive ornamentation and full of contemporary cultural oddities.
